This is a marathon open to the public held at Lake Yamanakako at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Set against the picturesque scenery of Mt. Fuji in the early summer, this event is attended by 12,000 runners each year, and has a system in place in which the entire local village offers its support to the runners.
